It’s the time of the year again December has come but have we ever ask ourselves what is the real truth about Christmas? Is it about exchanging of gifts, Santa Claus, Christmas trees, Christmas carols, parties, greeting cards, decorations, family and friends gathering or the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior? Is this really Christmas?
Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of Christ. God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to be born and to save us from all our sins. His birth brought great joy to the world. Christmas can be a season of great joy. It is a time of God showing His great love for us and it’s a time to celebrate and to remember how great Gods love for us that he gave Jesus into the world to redeem us from our transgressions. Isn’t wonderful? We celebrate Christmas not because of Santa Claus etc. we celebrate it because of Jesus the only son of God… Christmas is all about Him!
Yes Christmas isn't really the date of Jesus birth. No one knew the real date, even Rudolph, Santa Claus and Christmas tree do not appear anywhere in the Bible but that’s not important anyway as long as we celebrate Christmas because we want to give glory and praise to our Wonderful Savior for coming into the world.
Nowadays, some people misunderstood the real meaning of Christmas. Yes, it supposed to be meaningful event but for them it is the time of the year when they think they are obliged to give gifts to almost everyone. But there are still some who haven't forgotten the real meaning of Christmas... They celebrate it because it is the birth of Christ... They celebrate with the people they love by sharing or giving not just material things but love & appreciation and of course by spending quality time with loved ones…
I remember when I was a child when I discovered there is no Santa Claus but the one who give gifts inside my stocking were my parents. I also remember a time we would draw each other's names out of a box in our grade school classrooms, and each pupil was encouraged to buy a gift for the one whose name was drawn. I still remember the feeling of excitement and full of expectation about what gift I would receive when we had our classroom "Christmas party," only to discover a handkerchief and a hair comb. I was really disappointed!
You see, even before there are a lot of things I also misunderstood about Christmas. I thought its all about exchanging gifts, that Christmas would be useless without receiving any presents until I get to know the real meaning by myself… Yes now I can say that LOVE is really the essence of Christmas and that love was Jesus himself…
Look at Christmas in a meaningful way this year.
Jesus Is The Reason For Christmas! Lets celebrate and be merry!
